Cunard Policy—As of 2/11/21 |
|
NEW!—Announced February 11th
As a result of the continuing impact of Covid-19, Cunard has extended its pause in operations to departures up to and including May 28, 2021 for Queen Mary 2, and up to and including June 4, 2021 for Queen Elizabeth. Queen Victoria’s program remains unaffected and she is scheduled to resume sailings on May 17, 2021.
Announced August 25th
As a result of the continuing impact of Covid-19, Cunard has extended its pause in operations to sailings up to March 25, 2021 for Queen Elizabeth, April 18, 2021 for Queen Mary 2 and May 16, 2021 for Queen Victoria.
With Queen Elizabeth having returned to the UK during the pause, and with ongoing uncertainty over the re-opening of ports and countries on her intended routes next year, it is sadly not practical to continue as planned. Therefore, in addition to the extended pause, all of Queen Elizabeth’s sailings that were due to depart between March 26 and December 13, 2021, will be canceled. This includes all sailings around Australia, Japan and Alaska.
These voyages will be replaced with a program of shorter duration European vacations from Southampton and a series of Mediterranean voyages sailing from Barcelona, all of which will be available to book from September 29, 2020.
With this new extension to our pause in operations, we recognize that Covid-19 has now impacted two consecutive World Voyages for our guests, causing a great deal of disappointment. Given how popular these routes are, we have made the decision to cancel all planned voyages departing between January 3 and April 3, 2022, including the voyage to South America, and replace them with our much loved classic World Voyage to Australia via the Suez Canal. This new 118-night roundtrip New York World Voyage will be available to book from September 8, 2020.
If your booking has been impacted by these changes we are truly sorry. We will be crediting your guest account with a 125% Future Cruise Credit (FCC) on monies paid to date on your booking, which you may redeem against any voyage on sale now or on any new voyage that we introduce in the future. You have until December 31, 2021 to use your FCC.
Any shore experiences, dining , gifts or drinks packages you purchased for your voyage via My Cunard or our Customer Service Department will be automatically refunded back to the credit card you applied to make these purchases and there is no need to contact us.
We aim to process these refunds as quickly as possible and kindly ask that you refrain from calling or emailing our Customer Service Department at this time, unless your inquiry is urgent.
Please note that if you had pre-purchased any experiences for a voyage that was due to depart on or before November 1, 2020, on Queen Mary 2 or Queen Victoria, and on or before November 23, 2020, for Queen Elizabeth, we are applying an On Board Credit (OBC) to the value of 110%. This can be used on your next voyage with us, or indeed, rolled over from one voyage to the next. You have until November 30, 2022, to use your OBC. If you would prefer to receive a cash refund please fill out this web form.
Announced March 14th
As a result of the continued impact of COVID-19, and following the recommendation by the Cruise Lines International Association for cruise lines to voluntarily and temporarily suspend operations from U.S. ports for 30 days, Cunard is suspending any new cruises until April 11, 2020.
Queen Mary 2 and Queen Victoria will be returning to Southampton, with no new voyages and no new guests or crew embarking. Queen Elizabeth’s itineraries have been suspended whilst she is in Australia.
Cunard will continue to constantly monitor the evolving situation over the coming weeks and, as ever, its priority in any decisions it makes will be to protect the health and wellbeing of guests and crew.
Announced March 11th
For bookings made before March 11, 2020, and departing before August 31, 2020.
If you’d like to keep your existing booking, your ship and crew are ready and waiting to welcome you. Cunard is pleased to be able to offer you some on board credit to enhance your voyage; this will be credited to your on board account and can be used for drinks, spa treatments, room service and shore excursions booked on board. The amount you’ll receive depends upon the number of nights you’ll be spending on board with us:
There’s no need to call; your on board credit will be added to your account in time for departure and you will receive an updated booking confirmation in due course to confirm this.
Booked guests with a cruise departing before August 31, 2020, will receive an email (subject to us having a valid email address on your booking).
Should you wish to cancel your voyage, you’ll be pleased to know Cunard has temporarily relaxed their cancelation policy given the circumstances. Here’s a guide to what you need to know:
The value of the Future Cruise Credit will be equivalent to the value of the original cancelation charges.
