VIRGIN VOYAGES

THE BEACH CLUB AT BIMINI

The Location: Bimini, Bahamas

The Experience: Trendy, exclusive open-air lounge

The Ships: Scarlet Lady

The Details: This new adult-only cruise line created by party mogul Richard Branson boasts exclusive onboard experiences not found elsewhere, like onboard drag brunches and tattoo parlors. Their new private island oasis, The Beach Club at Bimini, offers an upscale ambiance with areas of high energy and quiet spots for relaxation, each hosting their own experiences. An expansive lagoon-like pool takes center stage—to the right is a sports shack with rentals like kayaks and an area for volleyball. Off to the left is a meditation and relaxation area for guests who want to be away from all the action. Whether you choose to retox or detox during your time on the island, you’ll enjoy a menu of locally sourced food such as conch and mango salad, lechon asado, and the island’s famous Bimini bread. There are six bars to choose from, but our favorite spot is in the hanging wicker bar chairs above the pool where you can sip on a cocktail while dangling your toes in the pool. As the day progresses, enjoy lively DJ-led pool and flotilla parties, and by night, curl up at the bonfire with acoustic musical performances and the “fireball” tradition before heading back to the ship. Most Virgin Voyages itineraries to the Caribbean include a day and night (10 am to midnight) spent at The Beach Club— complete with their signature bonfire bash under the stars.
