Azamara Policy—As of 7/1/21

NEW!—Announced July 1st

As the world continues to confront the many challenges resulting from COVID-19, our primary goal continues to be a healthy return to service for our guests, crew and the communities we visit. While we do see cruising is slowly starting up again, there is still uncertainty surrounding the resumption of cruise operations globally.

We’ve made the difficult decision to replace many sailings between September 2021 – May 2022 due to the ongoing complexities of cruise operations in Latin America and Australia. In addition, the conditions in certain parts of the Middle East and Western Africa are not conducive to cruise operations leaving us no choice but to cancel Azamara Pursuit voyages until January 2022. We’re truly sorry for this inconvenience and are grateful for you and your clients patience through this pandemic.

We’re excited to resume sailing again starting with Azamara Quest in Greece as planned starting August 28th, 2021. Shortly after Azamara Quest completes her Mediterranean season, she will head to the Caribbean as scheduled for her three back-to-back Caribbean sailings, followed by a new selection of 2022 Caribbean sailings. The Azamara Journey will begin her Mediterranean season on October 13, 2021, as expected and will remain there through the Winter with a new selection of sailings to the Canary Islands, Greece and more. We are still finalizing these new itineraries, but we expect them to be available for sale in the coming weeks.

We’re counting down the days until we resume sailing this summer and remain optimistic that with each day that passes, we’re another day closer to less uncertainty and more explorations. Through our Explore Well at Sea program, we have developed advanced screening protocols, more rigorous sanitation measures, and innovative medical services — to ensure a care-free Azamara experience.

The below sailings have been cancelled:

  • Journey 02-Nov-21 16-Night Ancient Civilzations Voyage
  • Journey 18-Nov-21 19-Night India, Sri Lanka & Myanmar
  • Journey 07-Dec-21 12-Night Bali & Western Australia Voyage
  • Journey 19-Dec-21 16-Night Australia Intensive Voyage
  • Journey 04-Jan-22 16-Night Australia/New Zealand Voyage
  • Journey 20-Jan-22 16-Night New Zealand Intensive Voyage
  • Journey 05-Feb-22 17-Night New Zealand & Australia Golf
  • Journey 22-Feb-22 17-Night Australia Intensive Voyage
  • Journey 11-Mar-22 16-Night Vietnam, Hong Kong & Japan Voyage
  • Journey 27-Mar-22 15-Night Japan Intensive Voyage
  • Journey 11-Apr-22 15-Night Japan Intensive Voyage
  • Journey 26-Apr-22 17-Night Asia Intensive Voyage
  • Journey 13-May-22 23-Night Spice Route Voyage
  • Pursuit 28-Sept-21 11-Night Greece Intensive Voyage
  • Pursuit 16-Oct-21 11-Night Aegean Pursuit Voyage
  • Pursuit 27-Oct-21 10-Night Israel Intensive Voyage
  • Pursuit 30-Nov-21 21-Night Western Africa Voyage
  • Pursuit 21-Dec-21 13-Night South Africa Intensive Voyage
  • Quest 23-Jan-22 10-Night Peru & Chile Voyage
  • Quest 02-Feb-22 21-Night Fjords & Antarctica Voyage
  • Quest 23-Feb-22 22-Night Carnival in Rio Voyage

NEW!—Announced April 27th

As the world continues to confront the many challenges resulting from COVID-19, our primary goal continues to be a healthy return to service for our guests, crew and the communities we visit. While we do see cruising is slowly starting up again, there is still uncertainty surrounding the resumption of cruise operations globally.

However, several ports and regions are starting to welcome travelers back and encourage cruising. We’ve been approved to resume sailing again at the end of August 2021, with a series of new Greece Intensive voyages aboard the Azamara Quest. As a result, we need to cancel all current Quest sailings departing on or before October 2nd, 2021.

Unfortunately, as travel requirements throughout most of Europe remain unconfirmed, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to cancel the following voyages as well:

Azamara Journey sailings departing on July 16, 2021 through September 29, 2021
Azamara Pursuit sailings departing on July 10, 2021 through September 14, 2021
Our ships will be back in operation as per below:

Azamara Quest will start the Europe season with a series of new Greece Intensive voyages sailing roundtrip from Athens (Piraeus), Greece.

Azamara Journey®: October 13, 2021.
Azamara Journey will start the late Europe season with her originally scheduled 12-night Greece Intensive voyage from Athens (Piraeus), Greece.

Today Royal Caribbean Cruises LTD. announced that it is suspending cruising in the United States for 30 days.

We are reaching out to our guests to help them work through this disruption to their vacations, and we are truly sorry for your inconvenience. Azamara is also communicating with our crew to work out the issues this decision presents for them.

Announced March 12th

COVID-19 Health Screening and Boarding Protocols

We are closely monitoring global developments regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19), and Azamara is fully focused on protecting the health and safety of its guests and crew.

To comply with requirements from US Administration COVID-19 Taskforce, CDC, WHO and other public health authorities around the world, we are enhancing our rigorous global boarding and screening measures to protect our guests and crew. These measures are intentionally conservative and apply to anyone boarding our ships, guests and crew alike. Azamara apologizes for the inconvenience created by these precautionary measures.

These temporary safety precautions will remain in place for a projected period of 30 days and will be reviewed daily for revision as conditions warrant. Until further notice, all ships in the Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. fleet will adopt the following health screening protocols:

While there are still a lot of unknowns related to COVID-19, we do know it presents the most serious health risks to older individuals, the immunocompromised, and those with serious, underlying medical conditions. Therefore, in order to sail:

  • Effective Friday, March 13, 2020, guests of all ages will be screened prior to boarding, regarding underlying issues that may prevent them from sailing including chronic heart, lung, liver, or kidney disease, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, or cancer.
  • Effective Monday, March 16, 2020, if you are over the age of 70 at the time of embarkation, you must present a doctor’s letter certifying you’re fit to travel and do not have severe, chronic medical conditions. As a reminder, Azamara is a subsidiary of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd.

If you are unable to provide a signed letter from your doctor or if you have a severe, chronic medical condition, please contact us or your Personal Vacation Manager immediately and we’ll provide you with a Future Cruise Credit to come back and sail with Azamara at a later time.

Regardless of nationality, boarding will be denied to:
  • Any person who has traveled from, to or through mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Europe (list of European countries) Iran, or South Korea 15 days prior to embarkation.
  • Any person who has come in contact with anyone with 15-day prior travel to mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Europe (list of European countries), Iran, or South Korea. The CDC characterizes contact with an individual as coming within six feet (2M) of a person.
  • Any person who within 15 days prior to embarkation, has had contact with, or helped care for, anyone suspected or diagnosed as having COVID-19, or who are currently subject to health monitoring for possible exposure to COVID-19.

Secondary, enhanced health screenings will be performed on:

  • Any person who reports feeling unwell or displays flu-like symptoms
  • Any person who has traveled from, to or through Japan or Thailand in the 15 days prior to embarkation.
  • Any person who is uncertain about contact with individuals who have traveled in the 15 days prior to embarkation from, to or through mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Europe (list of European countries), Iran, South Korea, Japan, or Thailand.

In some cases, guests presenting certain symptoms in the specialized health screenings may be denied boarding. All guests who are denied boarding due to these restrictions will receive compensation. Additional restrictions may be imposed based on local circumstances. For example, certain countries may deny visas or prohibit entry based on travel history or nationality.

We are assessing developments constantly and will update these measures as needed. We are also modifying itineraries as needed and communicating directly with impacted guests as well as travel advisors.
